Would this happen in the real world? Does the clothing we wear affect out mindset? According to studies done in past, researchers have coined the term psychological clothing, to define the changes in mindset we undergo with certain kinds of clothing. Researchers believe that we you go out to exercise, it good to get into exercise clothes, which makes your exercising motive strong. Researchers have confirmed that people who go out to exercise in their exercising outfit burn more calories then the ones who don’t.
Motivation is not just the only thing needed for exercising. A good mindset also needs a level of comfort. Certain fabrics are better at wicking away moisture. In terms of exercise, this means keeping your sweat off of you. This helps prevent chafing and rashes.
If your thighs rub together and you’re planning on running, make sure your shorts are longer than mid-thigh. If you get rashes in and around your armpits, make sure you are getting breathable or wicking fabrics and staying away from tank tops.
Essentially you should look out for fabrics which are both breathable and wicks away the moisture. A normal daily wear would not be a good fit if you are looking for these kinds of fabrics.
“It’s all about the symbolic meaning that you associate with a particular item of clothing, I think it would make sense that when you wear athletic clothing, you become more active and more likely to go to the gym and work out.”
Fitness activewears come in different price range. When you buy one, look for the ones which are neither too expensive nor too cheap. Gap has a wide variety of fitness activewears and the one which I bought is from gap as well. I am quite happy with my fitness dress and would suggest one for everyone as well.
